Tax Accountant

A leading financial brokerage is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their expanding Tax and Accounting division.

Our client offers a wide range of financial services, including risk management, investment, and estate planning, to professional clients. They are known for their exceptional client services.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Full Accounting and Tax Function:
• Manage the full accounting and tax function of a client portfolio.
• Produce monthly management reports.
• Handle the full accounting function up to trial balance.
• Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors using Caseware.
• Provide advice on all tax and accounting matters.

• Tax Preparation and Submission:
• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies.
• Prepare and submit provisional tax returns for individuals and companies.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.
• Attend to all SARS correspondence.
• File notices of objections and suspension of debt on e-filing.

• Client Interaction:
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner, adhering to workplace etiquette and professionalism.
• Travel to clients at various locations as required.

• Education:
• Matric 
• Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma (non-negotiable).
• Completed articles.

• Professional Affiliations:
• Affiliations to SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, and SAIBA are preferred.

• Experience:
• At least 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Working experience and knowledge of Pastel.
• Experience with e-filing is essential.
• Knowledge of Caseware is imperative.

• Skills:
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Competent in handling all SARS correspondence.

• Other Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license and own vehicle (non-negotiable)
