POSITION INFO:

Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation, including Income Tax, VAT, Import VAT, and Withholding Taxes
Assist with gathering and submitting documentation and responses for revenue authority queries and audits
Responsible for the monthly preparation, review, and filing of indirect tax returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
This includes Conducting reasonability checks on calculations
Analysing General Ledger movements and providing insightful commentary
Oversee the filing of monthly PAYE returns based on payroll calculations
Prepare detailed reconciliations between revenue authority statements and internal financial records for each tax type and entity
Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of tax payments to revenue authorities
Compile and post monthly tax-related journal entries
Conduct quarterly internal VAT audits, reviewing entries from various departments for compliance and accuracy
Coordinate the renewal of VAT rulings with relevant authorities
Support the preparation of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) computations for group companies in line with current tax legislation
Train and manage junior staff, providing guidance and oversight on tax-related functions

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a similar role
Indirect tax experience
Strong working knowledge on Excel and Word

Qualification:
BCom in Accounting or Taxation
Honors in Taxation highly beneficial
