Purpose of the position: Ensure that suitable suppliers are selected for products and services to the company. Securing and analysis of RFQ’s, quotations and negotiating of prices and terms

Key Performance areas

• Purchasing of commodities, services and address technical queries
• Control, develop and monitor suppliers
• Ensure continuity of supply for area of responsibility
• Ensure commercial and legal compliance
• Take into account price, quality and delivery
• Address technical queries during procurement and quotation process
• Ensure quality assurance of material, parts or products are adhered to during the procurement processes
• Evaluation and selection of suppliers

Knowledge required:

• Sound Knowledge and understanding of technical concepts and quality systems
• Sound Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes 
• Sound Knowledge and understanding of budget control
• Sound Knowledge and understanding of customer requirements and supplier evolution
• Sound Knowledge of technical specifications

Minimum qualifications and experience required

• Grade 12
• Diploma in purchasing
• Navision
• Min 5 years purchasing experience
• Technical knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry
• Minimum 2 years costing/estimating experience
