SUMMARY:
Internal Sales vacancy in Parts Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Working hours: Monday to Friday 07h00 to 17h00, every second Saturday from 07h00 to 12h00.  Standby to assist afterhours, 1 week per month.  You may be required to work additional hours to satisfy the operational requirements of the company.

Technical company situated in Benoni seeking an Internal Sales Representative for their Parts Department.

Qualifications / Skills Required Minimum level of education:

Grade 12 (Matric)

Skills required:

  • Proficiency in the English language and communication skills (reading, writing, grammar, spelling, etc.).
  • Afrikaans proficiency.
  • Complete accuracy in carrying out all duties and responsibilities.
  • Basic mathematic skills.
  • Computer Skills.
  • Write and distribute emails.
  • Set up meetings.
  • Excel knowledge (Basic formulas and formatting).
  • Formulas must include sum, average and basic calculative functions (+, -, x, ÷)
  • Formatting must include decimal, currency and visual changes.
  • Word knowledge (numbering, bulleting, headers, footers, etc).
  • Experience with an accounting package, specifically Pastel Evolution, is preferred.
  • Communication: Both strong listening and communication skills are crucial.
  • Teamwork: Required to work in a teamwork environment. Need to interact with operations, stores, other sales team members, and management to meet sales goals. Interpersonal and teamwork skills will assist in effectively working in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail. Character traits required:
  • System driven and methodical in organizing paper work.
  • Able to work in a team and bring a positive atmosphere into the department.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Multitasking skills and ability to organize workloads (prioritize).
  • Emotionally mature, i.e. being able to accept decision of person above in hierarchy, even if the decision is incorrect.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and dedicated. Experience required: At least 3 years’ experience in part sales / internal sales type position would be preferred. Does not have to be earthmoving, can be from the motor industry as well.

Other:

  • Ability to exercise discretion with highly sensitive and confidential information is imperative.
  • Driver’s license and own transport important.
  • Basic technical knowledge on parts would be preferred.
  • Preferably a non-smoker.
  • Bad language will not be tolerated.

 

Duties and responsibilities Primary Duties:

• Create quotes and send to customers.

• Follow up on outstanding quotes and provide constant feedback to the applicable sales person.

• Understanding customers needs and requirements and identifying sales opportunities.

• Answering existing / potential customer questions and providing additional information when needed.

• Keep up with current product and service information.

• Keep up to date with competitors products and services.

• Upselling products and services.

• Promoting the features and benefits of the company’s products and services.

• Receive, manage or escalate customer complaints / warranty claims related to the sale of product or services.

• Identify sales leads and escalate to internal or external sales team.

• Maintain client database.

• Drive the sales order process in terms of:

o Creating sales orders and arrange for collection or dispatch of products or services.

o Constantly following up purchase orders that need to be created with the procurement department.

o Once inventory items have been received, invoices and delivery notes to be generated.

o Constantly following up with the distribution department on parts that need to be delivered/collected.

• Answer telephone calls for sales department and distribute calls to correct sales person.

• Distribute incoming sales enquiries on the helpdesk (email) to the correct sales person.

• Provide strong customer service to customers which includes but is not limited to: o Providing feedback on status of order.

o Resolve any issues that may arise in respect of incorrect deliveries.

o Resolve any issues that may arise in respect of any return of goods

o Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty

o Understand all products and services offered o Improve sales skills to increase sales success rates

• Provide routine assistance in the administration of the sales department which include but is not limited to:

o Maintaining records, reports and files.

o Preparing and analyzing reports.

o Using computers to enter, access or retrieve data. Secondary Duties: Due to the operational requirements of the business certain duties and responsibilities may be expanded on or changed which may include but is not limited to:

• Procurement related functions.

• Drafting various forms of correspondence.

• Data capturing.
