SUMMARY:

Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.

About the YES Initiative

The President launched the initiative in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labor department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Technician

Stipend: R8000.00

Location: Cape Town

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

Delivering technical services at customer sites
Basic customer problem-solving, providing operation and maintenance on client
site.
Service contract site visits - repair work; technical inspections and
recommendations at site; preventive maintenance work at site
Local installation and start-up support of pre-assembled products
Providing specific technical discipline work at site
Identifying sales leads and promoting services offering.
Deliver site reports, Job cards, travel expenses reports, Stock Reports, after all
jobs performed Ensure proper fulfilment of all SHEQ rules and regulations of company and customer
Perform safety inspection at workplace prior to start the job.
Correct usage of PPE
Reporting any unsafe condition on site

Requirements:

South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34
Must not have participated on the YES programme before
Grade 12
Driver’s license
A+ Certificate or equivalent
N+ Certificate or equivalent

Skills required:

Good communication on all levels.
Strong technical understanding.
Computer literate – MS Office Suite.
Identify and solve problems in a timely manner.
Customer focused.
Safety conscious.
