Territory Account Manager, Rest of SA

SUMMARY:
Our client, that is a food delivery platform is looking for a natural sales personality that knows where the best eats are around in town to fill our exciting Territory Account Manager role to be based in either Durban or PMB. We looking for a candidate that is passionate about food and enjoys negotiating to build the best partnerships.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Territory Account Manager

Location: Durban or Pietermaritzburg

Role Summary:

The Territory Account Manager embodies strategy by driving the growth of specific cities, areas and partners, both on the top-line (orders and clients growth) and bottom line (average basket), with a focus on the partner's dimension & experience of the marketplace. This role is an opportunity to help grow our clients online food ordering and delivery platform with a strong sense of ownership. This role calls for a combination of an operational approach, analysis of performance and exceptional relationship management. 

Primary Goal:

The primary focus will be bringing on new small-and-medium sized merchants (not necessarily only restaurants) that fit our clients partnership criteria, and you'll use your skills in emailing, cold-calling, and driving internal processes to set up our partnerships for success.

Minimum Qualification Criteria:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Account Management or Business Development role
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Commercial/Technical field - (Sales and Marketing)
• Advanced Excel proficiency and an interest in dealing with numbers and analysis
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and effectively champion customer needs
• Ability to take initiatives and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environments.
• Desire to work with restaurants/merchants & building a strategic partnership, being proactive, creating positive and lasting relationships to bring them added new value and helping them to reach their potential on our clients platform
• Project Management: good organization, prioritization & time management skills
• Problem solving skills: when you see a problem, you work hard and think out of the box until you fix it
• Be proactive and build positive and lasting relationships with our client's partners
• Highly autonomous - able to work with minimal oversight

• Responsible for driving business performance
• Identify key merchants to acquire to keep enriching the selection already available on the platform, and coordinate with the dedicated sales team to make sure you close the deal
• Create long-term relationships with key accounts, ultimately enhancing their financials, marketing efforts, engagement and satisfaction. 
• Drive on-the-ground knowledge and context about the city & partner operations to the wider team across SA
• Act as an ambassador of our clients company mission, brand, and product
• Communicate the value of our client to merchants and customers
• Lead and coordinate end-to-end sales motion for Enterprise prospects including qualification, education, pricing/quoting, contract negotiation to close deals
• Build strategic relationships to gain positioning with decision-makers while driving growth of new business
• Acquire an extensive knowledge of the merchants, area and cities to identify further options to grow & developing new business pillars e.g. Convenience, Grocery
• Build tools and processes, utilising analytical ability combined with operational rigour to drive forward critical metrics
• Partner with internal teams to solve problems and ensure that feedback received is used in improving products and operations
