Test Analyst for a leading fintech company in Edinburgh or Glasgow (in office 50% of the time).
The company is going through a period of sustained growth (with some of the most ambitious hiring plans I've seen, with investment to match) and are looking to bring a couple more manually focused Test Analysts onboard to join their established testing team. The company boast an impressive client list developed throughout the years and have a range of clients from large-scale well-known UK brands through to smaller, more local organisations.
At the moment, they are focusing on modernising the technical function - so loads of new ideas, tools, technology and processes incoming, all whilst they migrate the majority of their customers to a cloud-hosted platform over the next couple of years, so there is lots of get involved in!
You'll be someone with a track record of software testing experience, whether it's in a specific software testing role, or as part of another position - this will involve creating and executing the tests. You'll have that inquisitive testing mindset that will help you explore the web-based product in different ways (exploratory testing), as well as carrying out smoke, regression and testing of new features.
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Web-based applications
**Strong exploratory testing experience
**Regression and smoke testing
The company have no 'us and them' mentality, and so the testing and development teams are very collaborative, integrated and means that the technical team as a whole really value software testing.
Although this role is manually focused, and the team are really keen to hire into this area, they have implemented automation testing (with JavaScript) to a certain extent, and this is an area where they think they can improve the test coverage - so if this is more your expertise, please do get in touch, or if its something you are interested in, there is potential further down the line to move into this area.
The company have two very nice offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow - both centrally based and would be looking for you to be in the office 50% of the time. If you live further afield, or less time in the office would be needed for some reason, please do still apply as the company are happy to be flexible.
