Injection & Blow Moulding

POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Toolmaker with expertise in injection and blow moulding to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, maintaining, and modifying moulds used in plastic production processes. This role requires precision machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tooling materials to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, assemble, and maintain injection and blow moulds according to engineering specifications.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair of moulds to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
• Perform CNC machining, milling, grinding, and turning operations to fabricate and modify tooling components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs for accurate tool fabrication.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance on moulds to ensure longevity and performance.
• Work closely with the production and design teams to improve tooling performance and optimize mould designs.
• Operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machines), and surface grinders.
• Ensure all tooling meets quality and safety standards to support production requirements.
• Keep accurate records of tooling modifications, maintenance, and repairs.
• Follow health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Trade Certification in Toolmaking or Fitter & Turner (or equivalent qualification).
• Proven experience in toolmaking with a focus on injection and blow moulding.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of mould design, repair techniques, and machining processes.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and modifications is beneficial.
