UNDERWRITER | POLOKWANE

This short term insurance underwriter will be responsible for the following duties:

 New quotations
 Policy renewals on an annual basis
 Confirmation letters
 Amendments on policies
 Reinstatement of cancelled policies
 Cancellation of policies
 Force debits, refunds, payments and return debits related to unpaid premiums.
 Follow-up on outstanding documentation.
 Interact with clients and service providers regarding new and existing policies.
 Complete documentation and capture information related to the underwriting request.
 Ensure proper and correct communication channels are followed throughout the
process.
 Adhere to policies and procedures in place.
 Set up appointments with clients.
 Prepare policy summaries, quotations and schedules and any other required
documentation.
 Ensure that all documentation and information send to clients, service providers or any
other party related to the underwriting task at hand is correct.
 Negotiate with insurers and service providers regarding rates and premiums.
 Follow instruction and complete delegated duties in a timeous manner.
 All communication and instructions from and to a client and a service provider via any
communication medium, must be done or confirmed in writing and to be noted in the
relevant task on the workflow system

 Assist the brokers in the following:

 Copying any client data from and to internal programs/ systems accurately &
flawlessly.
 Consider the client’s needs and make suggestions to the broker where
necessary.
 Make sure and assist the broker to conduct renewals of policies on the required
renewal date.
 Also make sure that if a client has more than one policy, that all the
relevant policies must be renewed in the same month.

 

Qualifications:

Grade 12

RE 5

NQF Level 4 in Short-term Insurance (completed or in progress)
