Unit Accountant

Produce accurate month-end accounts while comparing them to the previous period and forecasts
Prepare profit and loss accounts
Assist in preparing budgets and business planning
Reconciling bank statements
Pursuing overdue payments, reporting debts, and carefully overseeing the cash flow
Ensure VAT and PAYE legislation is followed
Prepare a balance sheet for senior management
Troubleshoot the management or credit care when it does not balance
Reconcile petty cash
Draw the general ledger accounts from auditors
Ensure cash drop sheet balances back to the management report
Reconcile debtors payments
Compile a payment pending schedule
Monitor financials and identify discrepancies
Compile a comparison between actual and budget values
Ensure a fixed asset stock take is done each year and submit the finalized fixed asset register is submitted at year-end
Prepare cashbooks on a weekly basis
Reconcile all suppliers to purchase sheets and statements
Prepare the income statement of the 5th working day in the month
Reconcile all creditors statements and the immediate payments to the statement
Monitor stock for various departments
Complete all required forms for international suppliers’ payment or selling of foreign currency
 
Skills & Experience:
Hospitality experience beneficial
Minimum 1-3 year’s experience in a high-volume environment
Excellent Excel skills
Good attention to detail and a team player

Qualification:
Accounting Degree non-negotiable
Relevant accounting certificates or diploma’s beneficial
