VAS Tech Lead

SUMMARY:
Our client in the telecoms sector is looking for a VAS Tech Lead on a contract duration of 6 to 12 months.

POSITION INFO:
Education : 

• 3+ year Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

• Solid experience within the VAS domain
• Experience in the following VAS domains will be highly advantageous : Third Party Exposure systems, Omni-channel communication systems, EIR and  Device Management Platforms(Device OTA)
• At least 5 years’ experience in the IT/Telecoms industry and specifically the application of Information Technology within the Telco space

• A background in System Architecture & Design which includes the creation of highly detailed functional requirements which describe deep functional logic of a system
• A background in database administration
• A background in Unix/Linux OS systems administration
• A background in Hardware and Storage administration
• Some solid background in programming (e.g. Java, Python, Perl, PHP, C/C++, C#, VB.Net, Erlang etc) is mandatory

• GSM training is mandatory as well as some training on SS7 and SIGTRAN.
• Some training on Oracle, SUN Solaris and Linux is also required
• Training on any scripting language is a must
• Training on various systems in the Charging, VAS, CRM, Self Service, Portal, Call Centre and Business information systems space 
• Any Project Management training is highly desirable

• Good understanding of as many Telco and IT protocols as possible such as (but not limited to) SS7, POP & SMTP, Diameter, FTP, SNMP, LDAP, HTTP,   XML/RPC, SSL, SIP, H.323, SGCP, MGCP, RTP, Voice & Video codes (G7.X etc), IMAP, SOAP, WML, MM7, SMPP, XML,  XHTML etc
• System Architecture & Design Skills including Activity Diagrams, Business Requirements Gathering and Feedback, Capacity Upgrade Planning, Deployment  & Testing Planning, Flowcharting, Interaction Diagramming (Sequence), State Machine Diagramming, System Topology Diagrams and Data flow diagramming, Systems Requirement Specifications, Use Case Diagramming and IP technology
• Development / Scripting languages - Any of the following (more than one preferable): Java, Python, Perl, PHP, C/C++, C#, VB.NET and Erlang
