Job Description

Main purpose of the position

• Conducting various maintenance, repairs, and modifications in accordance to the company standards and with the aim of improving equipment availability and sustainability.

You would be responsibilities for:

Safety and Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment, free of any spillages or obstacles.
• Monitor and adhere to company’s maintenance standards, working manuals, working instructions and procedures.
• Ensure all areas of work are kept clean during and after work has been completed.

Equipment operation and maintenance

• Perform tasks pertaining to routine, planned, and breakdown work.
• Conduct inspections on equipment, record data required for notifications, works orders, or job cards, and provide this information to the Mechanical Technician.
• Conduct planning for tasks. This relates to day plans as well as weekly plans.
• Conduct training and coaching of Artisan Aids.
• Conduct the lubrication of plant equipment.
• Perform repairs, replacements, or modifications tasks on plant and equipment as instructed.
• Assist in activities according to instruction of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, or Mechanical Technician.
• Use tools and equipment provided to ensure the completion of any task.
• Follow all maintenance related processes and procedures and actively participate in any set maintenance program.
• Report on maintenance activities as required.
• Check equipment on a regular basis and report observed defects and deviations from the standard maintenance parameters and requirements to the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, or Mechanical Technician.

Qualifications

• Minimum N3, Trade Test
• National Diploma an advantage

Skills

• Competent with the use of hand tools.
• Good special recognition.
• Technically strong and follows mechanical installation and repair standards as specified in technical studies and as required in Trade Test.
• Basic rigging.
• Fault finding and problem solving skills.
• Applies knowledge obtained during training to all mechanical tasks.
• Can assess the safety risks associated with the work to be done.
