Job Description
You will be responsible for the following:
Electrician Installations
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Assist with all normal workshop tasks if not on-site including wiring/testing electrical equipment
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Assist with commissioning
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
Coordinating Projects
- Liaise with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
- Reviews project activities for compliance with procedures and standards
- Participate in preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedule and budget
- Weekly/daily progress reports on installations project progress and health check projects
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- ND in Electrical Engineering
- 3 Phase Wireman’s License (Master IE) (Non-negotiable)
- Project Management Certificate (Advantage)
- First Aid Level 1 (Advantage)
- ORHVS Certificate (Advantage)
Skills
- Knowledge of Schneider & Siemens electrical products would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Electrical systems, especially MCC’s
- Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Design Systems and Tools
- Basic knowledge of Soft Starters and Drives setup and commissioning
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge of electrical hazards
