Main Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly at assigned tables and provide menus and wine lists.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Ensure tables are set with linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS system and deliver within specified time limits.
- Coordinate seamlessly with bar and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Clear used cutlery and crockery once guests have finished.
- Offer desserts and coffee, with an emphasis on upselling.
- Accurately bill guests and ensure prompt payment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the restaurant area, fixtures, and fittings.
- Present a clean and professional appearance in uniform at all times.
Main Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Preferably 3 years of waiter/waitress experience in a similar environment (5 years for Senior Waiter).
- Basic knowledge of wine and local wine regions.
- Hands-on experience with a cash register and ordering systems.
- Strong math skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and attentive listening.
- Patience and attentiveness to guests'' needs.
- Comfortable working with distinguished clientele.
- Well-presented, enthusiastic, and flexible with a strong sense of accountability.
