Warehouse Assistant

POSITION INFO:
Leading client in logistics is in need to hire a Warehouse Assistant, you will be responsible for daily warehouse operations, including receiving materials, checking delivery note with purchase orders, marking and packing.
Assist in doing packing, marking items for consolidation loads, assisting in marking items per manifest, taking photos, job sheets… and shipping.
You will ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse from receiving cargo until cargo is loaded onto truck, while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for receiving, and dispatching goods according to system documentation
• Assisting daily cargo operations, including categorizing, organizing, labeling, and coordinating inbound and outbound logistics. Familiarity with inventory characteristics and classification management is required to ensure proper placement for logistics efficiency and safety, adhering to the first-in-first-out (FIFO) principle.
• Conduct acceptance checks, record-keeping, and issuance of materials and equipment in accordance with regulations to ensure consistency between physical stock and records. Perform daily and monthly inventory counts and collaborate with finance to provide shipping documents and actual data for inventory checks.
• Maintain awareness of inventory status and regularly clean the warehouse, ensuring materials and equipment are neatly organized, accurately stored, and properly categorized to maximize inventory turnover efficiency.
• Oversee warehouse safety management, conducting regular inspections of fire and theft prevention facilities, and promptly addressing any vulnerabilities.
• Complete other temporary tasks assigned by management.

• Valid legal status and driver's license in South Africa.
• Written and verbal communication skills English.
• Grade twelve (12) or equivalent qualification
• No criminal record
• Own transport
