Our client, an exclusive master distributor in Southern Africa of some of the world's leading premium outdoor equipment brands is currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to be based in Blackheath, Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Department: Warehouse (Logistics & Supply Chain)

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Warehouse & Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a keen focus on optimizing workflow, reducing costs, and maintaining high safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5 years+ experience in Warehouse Management and Distribution Management.
• Strong knowledge of logistics software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience in process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
• Maintain and enforce health, safety, and security standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
• Develop and implement warehouse layout optimization strategies for maximum storage and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and warehouse activities.

• Manage and optimize distribution strategies to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
• Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and timely shipments.
• Implement best practices in fleet management, route planning, and carrier selection.
• Ensure all deliveries are accurately recorded and documented.
• Develop contingency plans for distribution disruptions.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock control through regular audits.
• Minimize stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Work closely with procurement and sales teams to align stock levels with demand.
• Implement efficient inventory turnover strategies to minimize holding costs.

• Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and distribution staff to enhance productivity and morale.
• Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and succession planning.

• Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify and introduce new technologies or process improvements to optimize operations.
• Track and report key operational metrics for data-driven decision-making
