Winding Engine Driver

Salary:
R 298 524.00 per annum

Allowance:
A living out allowance of R1 100.00 will be contributed towards this allowance

Provident Fund:
The employee contribution to the Provident Fund is 7.5% of the gross salary and the company will contribute a share of 7.5% to the fund

Experience

• The successful incumbent must possess at least two (2) years’ experience in terms of performing the functions and responsibilities of a Winding Engine Driver.

 
Formal qualifications / minimum requirements

• Grade 10 of equivalent
• Certified Winder Engine Driver
• Onsetter and Banksman Certificate
• Valid medical certificate certifying the incumbent’s fitness status to work on surface and or underground

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standard of safety in the haulage process
• Haul to standard signals
• Reacting to abnormal activities and notification of such to Shaft head controller or Logistics Supervisor by radio / telephone
• Communicate winder defects or abnormal activities to the Logistics Supervisor
• Effective two-way communications with shaft employees
• Ensure that the activities in the winder area matches the requirement of the whole process
• Compile an accurate shift report
• Help engineering employees to maintain equipment in the winder area
• Participate in required meetings including safety
• Accurately complete role administration requirements
• Assist during breakdowns or emergencies
• Familiar with work related hazards and risks and with the measures that must be taken to eliminate, control and minimize those hazards and risks.
• Whenever a situation presents a risk to safety of persons, immediately take appropriate measures to safeguard employees and report the matter immediately
• Comply with all other prescribed health and safety measures.
• Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of other persons, who may be affected by any activity performed by this position, or any omission on the part of this position
