POSITION INFO:

Workshop Mechanic required for a reputable company based in East London, Eastern Cape

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 yrs. proficiency working as a Mechanic
• Thorough understanding for mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems and hydraulics
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work
• Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturer’s instructions; adjusting reels and back lap reels.
• Responsible for general, detailed and specific inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and service of all company vehicles and equipment 
• Follow preventive maintenance program
• Maintain service log on all equipment
• Keep a clean and safe work area
• Display a good work attitude at all times
• Oversee workshop area maintenance by ensuring that workshop remains clean and orderly; tools are kept clean and in proper working condition
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels
