SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
- Assist the trucks, own and 3rd parties while they revers not only in the yard but also between the Mill and Rigger. No – vehicle must be allowed to reverse without assistance.
- Monitoring the Loading and Offloading of trucks, safe practice and keeping pedestrians clear of these vehicles and the machinery.
- Controlling the flow of trucks (and being in constant communication with security).
- Ensuring man and machine separation where possible.
- Controlling the vehicles and space allocated for them when parked overnight not to disturb normal operations.
- Manage the pallet area and pallet requirements for Rigger.
- Manage the waste area and ensure the wastebins are emptied when needed.
- Ensure FIFO method is applied when pulp is moved from Rigger to Fitter for consumption.
- Ensure the safe stacking of pulp in the yard area and in the designated areas. Do daily checks (twice a day) on stacked pulp in the yard area to ensure safety.
- Manage and ensure housekeeping is always maintained in the yard area.
- Maintain optimal level of customer services and assist to resolve all customer issues.
- Supervise all customer and company staff in all yard operations.
- Monitor loading of materials to ensure safe transfer to other stores.
- Coordinate with other departments and investigate accidents and identify the root cause of damage.
- Liaise with Security and assist with CCTV investigations and compiling evidence for accidents and incidents.
- Monitor and ensure wadding is shipped from the Factory to Rigger as soon as possible, the trucks are loaded and offloaded as soon as possible.
- Ensure the Truck Drivers and Material Handlers adhere to all safety rules. Ensure you familiarize yourself with the Truck and Forklift driver safety rules and assist in enforcing same.
- Ensure the Truck drivers adhere to the standard operating procedure in shipping stock from the factory to Rigger.
- Ensure no damaged stock is received from the Factory and reported immediately.
- Report any delays immediately.
- Familiarize yourself with the duties of the Receiving supervisor and assist in his absence when required.
CORE MANAGEMENT
Control and manage the area and cores received from suppliers and converting, as well as the core stands needed to ship cores back from converting. Ensure the core bins are emptied when needed and manage the neatness in this area and warehouse where the cores are kept.
- Manage the relationship with the bin supplier.
- Perform quality checks on cores received back from converting and suppliers, including buy ins from customers.
- Manage the core selection and issuing of cores to the factory, reused cores received back must be utilised first and marked every time they are reused to track the number of times a core is used.
- Communicate with the relevant stakeholders and suppliers and require new cores when needed, ensure the availability of cores to ensure production is not affected.
- Manage the procurement of cores (buy in from customers) and the inbound usage from customers, check and monitor the quality and quantity.
- Track the usage of cores received from Converting or buy ins from customers vs. new stock bought from suppliers, Quantity and Price per day and month.
- Assist with other duties assigned to you from time to time.
